The Breaking Point
April 3rd, 2024. 3:13 AM. I woke up with my heart racing, drenched in sweat, head pounding. When I looked at the blood pressure monitor and saw 162/106, I thought the machine was broken. But it wasn't. It was my body telling me something my mind had been refusing to hear: I was breaking.
I had climbed the corporate ladder, exceeded every expectation, and checked all the "success" boxes. I was a Senior Leader in a world that celebrated my achievements. But here's what no one tells you: the higher you climb on the wrong ladder, the further you get from who you're meant to be.
The Awakening
That morning was my wake-up call. I realized I had been performing success instead of living it. I was professionally accomplished but personally empty. I kept telling myself "I should be grateful" while my soul whispered "there has to be more."
The very breakdown that felt like an ending was actually the beginning of my greatest breakthrough. I discovered that my corporate experience wasn't something to escape from—it was my greatest business asset.
The Strategic Exit
Unlike the "leap and hope" advice most people give, I developed a strategic approach to reinvention. I didn't quit my job overnight. I built my bridge while I was still standing on solid ground. I created what would become the Strategic Bridge Method™—a framework for high-achieving women to transition from burnout to boldness without burning bridges or going broke.
When I finally made my exit, it wasn't out of desperation. It was from a place of strategic clarity and financial readiness. And remarkably, just days after my resignation, my husband and I were invited to lead the family insurance business as COO and Managing Partner. God doesn't waste exits. He multiplies what you release in obedience.
